Posted by Sasha Forsen on Thu, Mar 20, 2014 @ 11:58 AM

On Wednesday, March 19, U.S. Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) stopped by our algae production facility in Shenandoah, Iowa. Senator Whitehouse brought his climate change message to Iowa, at the invitation of Iowa State Senator Rob Hogg, also a strong supporter of action on climate change.

The visit to Shenandoah included a tour of the Green Plains ethanol plant, followed by a tour of the BioProcess Algae facility so Senator Whitehouse could see how our algae facility uses the CO2 from the ethanol production process.

BioProcess Algae and Green Plains Host Conference Tour

Posted by Sasha Forsen on Mon, Sep 16, 2013 @ 04:45 PM

This past week, BioProcess Algae and Green Plains hosted a tour of our algae and ethanol facilities and how the two work side-by-side. The group was split up in two. While half of the group toured BioProcess Algae led by our CEO Tim Burns, the other half got to check out the ethanol production process with tour guide Ryan Brock, Green Plains Shenandoah Lab Manager. Then after the groups toured their first facility, they switched to the other.

We had a great time! We had a lot of interested parties from various companies and industries and they came equipped with lots of questions. We were very excited to show all of the innovative happenings going on in Shenandoah, Iowa.

The tour was part of the National Advanced Biofuels Conference & Expo that was held this year in Omaha, Nebraska. Tim Burns, our CEO, had the opportunity to present and talk algae with the conference attendees.

You can find out more about the conference here.

Iowa Lt. Governor Kim Reynolds Visits BioProcess Algae

Posted by Sasha Forsen on Thu, Sep 20, 2012 @ 04:13 PM

Today, we had the pleasure of showing Iowa Lt. Governor Kim Reynolds around our Phase III algae project at Green Plains in Shenandoah, Iowa. After a brief meeting about the history of the project, the Lt. Governor headed out to the five acres of Grower Harvester(TM) bioreactors that are near completion to have a tour led by our CEO Tim Burns. The Lt. Governor even spent time talking to each member of the BioProcess Algae crew in Shenandoah to learn more about what their role is with BioProcess Algae and what was it that led them to this exciting project.

In addition to the BioProcess Algae group, also joining the meeting were representatives from the Green Plains corporate office, Green Plains Shenandoah and the Shenandoah Chamber & Industry.

This was an exciting day for our BioProcess Algae crew! It was an honor to share our story and to have the opportunity to show our Phase III project in Shenandoah. We are very excited about the Lt. Governor's enthusiasm for our project and looking forward to her continued support.
